To get the most out of enterprise data, IT must join forces with the business and develop a strategic approach for business intelligence (BI). That was the goal of an ongoing push to achieve consistent, accurate business reporting and analytics at Dell. We needed to address the inefficiencies of existing processes and systems to get our sales teams the information they needed more quickly.

In the first post of this three-part series, my colleague Doug Hillary talked about his experience from the business point of view. As executive director of information capital and data science at Dell, I’d like to share the IT side of our journey to transform BI.
